Kate Alderton has been appointed as UK finance director of Warner/Chappell Music with immediate effect.
In her new role, Alderton will oversee all UK financial activity at the publisher and will report to Mike Lavin, the company’s European regional finance director, and Mike Smith, the UK managing director.
Alderton joined Warner/Chappell in 2012, serving first as financial controller and later as head of finance.
She joined the company from Deloitte, the audit, consulting, financial advisory and tax services company.
Smith said: ‘This is a thoroughly well-deserved promotion for Kate. She has a brilliant understanding of the changes the business is going through. Her good humour, hard work and creativity are invaluable when it comes to delivering the best possible solutions for our songwriters.

Warner/Chappell is home to a wide array of songwriters and currently publishes and administers music from Blur, Eric Clapton, Barry Gibb, Led Zeppelin and Radiohead.
