Cheltenham Music Festival is set to celebrate its 75th birthday and is calling for composers to submit a fanfare for Three Trumpets.
The new scheme offers women composers career development and commissioning opportunities, with the initial workshop producing a new commission for Lisa Robertson.
The 2019 edition of the event marks the inaugural festival programmed by artistic director Alison Balsom, and will feature 20 world premiers for its 75th anniversary.
Six composers from across the UK and a range of specialisms have been selected to take part in Wild Plum Songbook, an innovative new career development initiative.
