dj gabby gunn

Gabby Gunn is an eclectic selector whose innovative mixing skills have been tapped by DJ Mag for its Accelerator programme with Pioneer.

Having already performed at IMS Ibiza, Creamfields Festival and Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), Gabby is fast-building a solid rep for delivering happy crowds, high on the wayward bass and beats she throws down.

Drawn to the tribal end of techno, she works classic house and acid into her sets, moving from moments of hard aggression to unbridled euphoria.

Catch Gabby’s next set in London this Saturday (2 December), where she’ll be headlining the second Louder Rooms event at Zigfrid Von Underbelly in Hoxton Square.

Here, she reveals the 10 tracks she’s currently rinsing…

Tres Demented – Demented (Or Just Crazy)

Released on Planet E written by Laurent Garnier and Carl Craig, this powerful track gets everyone back to their ancestral roots. The tribal drums, growls and echoing cries continually build, pushing thoughts of everyday life further and further away. When the drop finally comes and tension is released forced into a collective stomp with the people around you.

Kink – Dynamo

A hypnotising track from one of my favourite artists, released on DGTL Records. Always building, always rising towards the hysteric howling bass.

Choice – Acid Eiffel

An epic euphoric track written by Laurent Garnier and Shazz.

Underground Resistance – The Final Frontier

One of my favourite records from one of my favourite all-time labels – Detroit’s finest, Underground Resistance. A weird and wonderful acid bassline, paired with ecstatic strings, takes your head to another place.

Mad Mike – The Illuminator

Another epic record from Underground Resistance, it packs huge emotional punch. I’m saving this one for an Ibiza sunrise set.

Gabby Gunn – Mind the Gap

Here’s one of my own – an acid techno track which takes a lot of inspiration from Laurent Garnier. I played it live at Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), but it’s currently unreleased. Watch this space…

Gabriel Moraes – Die Hölle

This track was released through Dear Deer and sports such massive bass, it warms up your whole body.

Floorplan aka Robert Hood – Never Grow Old (Replant)

A pumping techno track with gospel vocals from Robert Hood’s Label, M Plant.

Boxia – Point of No Return

The title says it all. I like to take the crowd on the journey, usually rising in speed and aggression. If I feel the crowd are ready to for hard four-four, this would be the one I’d pull out.

Privacy – Apex Predator

I like all things by Privacy… but this in definitely my favourite for the dancefloor!
