Five years after the release of his highly acclaimed debut Parergon, curating composer Will Dutta is back with his second studio album, bloom.
Known for his kaleidoscopic piano-led collaborations, he’s teamed up once again with Warp electronic legends Plaid, composer Max de Wardener and sound designer Manuel Poletti (Ircam) to create a series of compelling compositions layered with textures and electronic manipulations.
As the founder of Chimera Productions, Will’s work in the half a decade following Parergon has seen him curate 17 editions of annual new music platform Blank Canvas, alongside working as a creative programmer for Friday Night Music at the National Portrait Gallery and as researcher-in-residence at the Institute of Contemporary Arts.
Now back with bloom, he’s entered the realm of experimental sonics once more and recently launched the album with a live recital at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London, complete with luminous visuals and technicolor stage design by Damian Hale (Sigur Rós/New Order).
Ahead of the release, we’re delighted to bring you the premiere of new single Beauty Still (featuring Plaid). Wrap your ears around its sublime musical surface here…
bloom is out on 2 November, with support from PRS Foundation.
