Films of Colour formed by singer Andy Clutterbuck and guitarist James Hatcher in 2008 while at university in Guildford, Surrey. Drummer James Rees-Flynn and bassist Jack Allinson completed the line-up shortly after.
Compared to bands such as Radiohead, Muse, Coldplay and Bloc Party, their label boss Simon Williams said Films of Colour were ‘the best band he’s signed since Radiohead and Coldplay’.
The band have been featured on BBC 6Music, Absolute Radio, BBC Radio 2 as well as holding the number 1 spot for two weeks on Amazing Radio. Films of Colour have also been championed as Steve Lamacq’s Favourite New Band, The Guardian’s New Band of the Day,The Independent’s Barometer: One to Watch and Best of Myspace Winners.
