In session: Heavy Lungs

Heavy Lungs are a Bristolian punk-rock four-piece intent on shaking up the status quo.

Cut from the same cloth as IDLES, Fontaines D.C. and LIFE, they’re on a mission to strip things back to basics, putting their switched-on political savvy front and centre of their raucous sound.

Formed in May 2017 through friendship and a desperate need for artistic and sonic self-expression, Heavy Lungs have been kicking up a storm.

From their first packed-out show at local haunt Crofters Rights, to recording an EP in three days, they’ve since gone on to tour with IDLES and open for Metz.

Ahead of their upcoming Scotland shows (dates below), get a sneaky peek of the formidable foursome live in action at the latest PRS for Music Presents…

Heavy Lungs play Broadcast (Glasgow) on 3 July and Sneaky Pete’s (Edinburgh) on 4 July.
