Singer songwriter Luke Sital Singh’s name has been one on the lips of music industry tastemakers since last year and the release of his free debut EP Fail for You.
The record earned the young musician comparisons to the likes of folk artists such as Bon Iver and Damien Rice and the privilege of being listed on the Guardian’s website as ‘New Band of the Day’.
He was born in New Maiden, birthplace of folk legend John Martyn which suggests Luke is taking up the musical baton as passed down by this musical forefather – but listen to his songs and it’s clear he’s simultaneously putting his own twist on these traditional sounds.
More recently, Luke has released the well-received Old Flint EP and was also selected by British Music Abroad (of which PRS for Music Foundation is a partner) to represent a taste a of British music at SXSW.
